2022 Year in Review

Jan 13, 2023

Praise God for an incredible year at Homes for HOPE! By God’s grace and thanks to the generosity of our partners in the building industry, we experienced 59% year over year growth in our ability to support the incredible entrepreneurs HOPE serves around the world. That means, as a direct result of the work done this year, that 92,400 more people are now receiving biblically-based business training, and access to savings services and loans as they build a pathway out of generational poverty in all its forms!

Resilient men like Igor from Ukraine, and Vincent from Rwanda. Powerful women like Ghislaine from the Republic of Congo, Elizabeth from Zambia, and Flora from the Dominican Republic.

This year we, and some industry partners, got to meet in person with those we have the privilege of serving as we relaunched our Homes for HOPE vision trip to the Dominican Republic after a two-year hiatus. Inspiring entrepreneurs like Oleida, Patricia, Julissa and her husband Jesus, Elizabeth, Silverio and his wife Tati, and Manuelico proudly showed us their businesses and open-handedly gave us advice on business and life.

We also celebrated the life of Perry Bigelow who served as our board president for more than two decades. He went home to be with the Lord on July 4th. While we mourn his passing, we also rejoice that his hope is eternal due to his faith in Jesus Christ. To honor Perry’s legacy, we created a new annual tradition of presenting The Bigelow Award to a partner who embodies our organizational values of faithfulness, perseverance, honesty, and creativity. This year’s honoree was Mr. Stephen Brooks of Grand Homes.

Finally, we want to express our gratitude to all our donors who gave so generously to support our mission in 2022. Please join us, and the people we serve, in thanking those who started or completed Homes for HOPE projects, along with those who gave grants through their family or company foundations!

Homes for HOPE Projects – a builder donates the profit – bolstered by contributions from their trade partners, suppliers, and service providers – generated by the sale of one of their homes.

Grants – donations given through foundations, donor advised funds, or corporate giving initiatives.

All glory be to God for all He has done through Homes for HOPE in 2022!
