Who We Are

Nov 8, 2017

Hello friends. This morning while reading 2 Corinthians 5:11-21 I took joy in realizing that Paul lived as an outward example thus giving the church a testimony for those who found value in outward appearances. In other words, the church of Corinth could share the stories of Paul’s new and exciting life. I would imagine that his life stories would certainly make the headlines in today’s news, which is why the church had so much to talk about.

Last week I had the privilege of meeting with some of Americas greatest builders like John Rausch of Rausch Coleman Homes in Fayetteville AR, John Floyd of Ole South Homes in Murfreesboro TN, Frank Ballif of Southern Development Homes in Charlottesville VA, and Matthew Winslow of Winslow Homes in Youngsville NC. Their stories of God’s power realized in their lives brought chills to my spine.

For example, Matthew Winslow was asked by a local banker in 2009 to start a homebuilding company. You heard it right, he was asked to start a homebuilding business by a banker when the industry had just tanked! When it comes to God, nothing is impossible and now Matthew is bringing glory to God through his business and is building 50 homes a year!

God is using bankers and builders to be the outward stories for the church who testify that “God who made him {aka [Jesus]} who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” 2 Corinthians 5:21

So, what does it mean to become “the righteousness of God”? It means that God is proven right: to you, for you, in you, and through you. And as you can see He is doing it through bankers and builders here in America.  But did you know that God has been doing it at an amazing scale to strengthen those most impoverished around the world through our organization Homes for Hope?

Matthew Winslow and others are now “Building Locally To Fight Poverty Globally” through the missionary bankers of HOPE International.

A Home for Hope builder gives profits from his business to fund microenterprises in the developing world thus proclaiming the love of Christ to those HOPE serves in Asia, Africa, Eastern Europe, and Latin America.  HOPE International is currently serving over 935,000 families.
