Shawn Forth Featured in the Oklahoman
Shawn Forth Custom Homes, a builder partner of Homes for Hope, was recently highlighted by Dyrinda Tyson in a news article in the Oklahoman . It covers the recent completion of their first Home for Hope project, a 2,300-square foot home located at 18800 Havenbrook Road in Edmond, Oklahoma.
The article does a great job identifying what makes a Home for Hope special; quality craftsmanship and hope for nearly 1,000 underserved families around the world.
For the eye, there’s the spacious front porch. A bonus room upstairs with its own full bath and closet. Granite counter tops in the kitchen. Premium flooring underfoot. For the heart? Hope.
“When a buyer buys this house, it’ll help 1,000 families,” said Jack Nulty, executive director of Homes for Hope. “I mean, somebody needs a house, right?”
Shawn Forth, the owner of Shawn Forth Custom Homes, was interviewed along with Jack Nulty and shared his heart for the project. As a business owner, he understands the need for capital to build a business, put his God-given talents and gifts to work, and provide for his family.
“They’re loaning this money to a family to create a business,” he (Shawn Forth) said. “So by being in business myself, I see the benefits and how hard a struggle it is to do that. These people don’t have anything.”
“It’s more of a hand up than a hand out because they have to repay that loan,” he said. “Not only that, but they teach them banking and savings skills, and health skills.”
