McGuinn Hybrid Homes Launch Their First Homes for HOPE Project
It was a beautiful day in sunny Lexington, SC on Tuesday of last week. With the summer heatwave in full force, it was a good day to be inside for the McGuinn trade appreciation lunch at Hudson’s BBQ and the launch of their first Homes for Hope project.
“If you don’t get anything else out of this meeting, at least you got some free, delicious barbeque.” started off Wade, McGuinn’s CEO, presenting to a packed-out dining room. There were over 50 people in attendance, representing all but 5 of McGuinn’s faithful trade partners and suppliers, some of whom had been partnering with the McGuinn team for over 20 years. Wade shared about the importance of generosity and why the McGuinn team is doing this Homes for HOPE project. After discussing the unprecedented growth of McGuinn Hybrid Homes over the last few years, with 2023 looking like it will be a record year, Wade concluded, “We are not growing to get rich… or richer in our case. We are growing so we can be more generous.”
Stephen Giordano, the Eastern U.S. Representative for Homes for HOPE, then presented the founding story of Homes for HOPE, the impact HOPE is making to empower families around the world, and conducted an interactive demonstration to show how it works. Homes for HOPE’s model is providing a hand up to hardworking entrepreneurs in some of the most challenging places, as opposed to handouts which create entitlement and dependency. This concept resonated strongly with many of the hardworking tradespeople in the room. Many were excited to donate part or all of their contribution to the Homes for HOPE Project.
The event was a huge success and McGuinn is well on their way to raising significant funds from their first Homes for Hope project. They are grateful for the support of their trade partners and the community, and they along with Homes for HOPE look forward to seeing the impact this will have in the lives of many families.
