Experiencing HOPE: The Perspective of a Homes for HOPE Builder

Jan 9, 2019

I recently took a group of builders down to the Dominican Republic to see the impact Christ-centered Microenterprise Development is making in the lives of local entrepreneurs and their families. It was exciting to show our partners, first hand, how their contributions were being used to provide people in underserved communities with the chance to put their talents to work, build a small business, and provide for themselves.

We had the chance to meet Altagrace Jeremie, a local using her loan to start a business focused on providing food for the community, and in turn, allowing her children to go to school. We also saw Louis-Jean Pierre, a local entrepreneur and farmer who is using his microfinance loan to build a sustainable lifestyle for himself, his wife, and two kids. Watch the video below to learn more.

Homes for Hope partners with home builders in the US and Canada who have a heart for fighting global poverty. Their builders set aside proceeds from their homes to support the work of HOPE International, providing thousands of people around the world with the tools needed to put their own talents and ideas to work, grow a small business, and provide for themselves.
