HOPE International’s Building Industry Foundations | An Interview with Jeff Rutt

Homes for HOPE was the foundation of the financing of Christ-centered microenterprise for HOPE International from the beginning. Homes for HOPE remains an important contributor to the budget and the financial growth of HOPE International.

HOPE International has been tremendously impacted by Homes for HOPE and will continue to be for many years to come.

Jeff Rutt started at Keystone Custom Homes in 1992, and they’ve now built about 9 thousand homes. Jeff founded HOPE International in 1997 to help families in post-soviet Ukraine overcome poverty. They started small with 12 $500 loans, and they got word back from the country director that it was working, and they needed more cash. The team began brainstorming ways to fulfill that need, and since Jeff was in the building industry, he wanted to utilize that.

What began in one city is now in 27 different countries around the world. Homes for HOPE has helped HOPE International invest in over 3.1 million underserved families with the Gospel and the financial services they need.

We’ve currently raised about 280 million, and because of our 98% repayment rate, we’ve loaned out over 1.75 billion dollars.
